TINKRR Game of Life Guide
TINKRR is built around one loop: define what matters, record what actually happened, measure progress, and adjust the plan. This guide explains how the major areas work and how settings connect across the platform.
Quick Start
Build your purpose tree
Use Purpose to create goals and projects. Add start dates, deadlines, colors, descriptions, and child nodes so the app understands your direction.
Record the day
Use Record to set your mode, happiness rating, selected project, focus time, and journals for the active date.
Review and adjust
Use Quest Profile for focus trends, quest details, and checkpoint journals, then refine quest settings from the details drawer.
Dashboard Basics
The dashboard is driven by the selected date in the header. Use the date picker, previous and next buttons, or Today control to move through time. Record shows data for that day, Data Pool manages metrics, and You uses the date and year to frame focus analytics.
The bottom navigation has four primary areas: Record for daily input, Data Pool for metrics, You for analytics and tree relationships, and Profile for long-term review. Settings opens from the header. The header avatar shows your profile image, and the streak badge tracks the Awake habit trail.
Purpose
Purpose nodes
A purpose node is a goal, project, habit, or life area. Nodes can sit under parent nodes, creating a tree from broad direction to concrete actions. Each node can have a title, emoji, color, description, start date, deadline, completion date, and child branches.
Timeline
The Purpose timeline shows planning on the right, present-day signals on the left, and public holidays in the center lane. Switch Day, Week, Month, or Year views depending on how far ahead you want to plan.
Filters and search
Filters include All, For date, Past deadline, Upcoming, Completed, and No deadline. Search can jump to related journals, statuses, holidays, projects, and metric notes from the Purpose view.
Node details
Opening a node gives you details, planning controls, and linked journals. Use these tabs to refine the node and see the evidence connected to it.
Record
Record is the daily control center. Set your mode emoji and mood text, choose a happiness rating, select the project you are working on, create a journal, and review Focus today. Happiness is saved as a protected score metric by the daily status controls.
Project selection uses the same date logic as Purpose. A project appears for a date when it has started, has not passed its deadline, and has not already been completed before that day. The picker can also show overdue, upcoming, completed, or no-deadline projects.
When the focus timer is enabled in Settings, the Focus In/Out button appears on Record for Today. Start it after choosing a project. Focus activity can also be added, edited, or deleted manually from the Focus activity panel.
Journals
Journals capture the narrative layer of the app as checkpoint records on a purpose node. A journal can have a date, subject, emoji, rich text body, banner image, and image attachments. Each journal belongs to a purpose node so it appears in that node's journal tab and as a marker on the Purpose timeline.
Journal images use the app upload flow, storage quota accounting, and signed reads. Deleting a journal also deletes the images attached to that journal.
Data Pool and Metrics
Metric keys
The Data Pool is standalone. Add metric keys for readings such as cash, weight, sleep, sales, study hours, or any other measurement you want to track.
Modules
Modules group related metric keys into fixed system tracking kits. Pick a library module such as Gym or Wellness, then choose which existing metrics the module uses.
Metric types
Metrics can be Number, Currency, Percent, or Score. Units control display, target sets the desired value, and direction decides whether higher or lower values count as improvement.
Manual and calculated
Manual metrics accept entered values. Calculated metrics use formulas. Strict mode requires every referenced metric on the same date, Loose skips missing values in aggregates, and Loose + latest carries forward the latest prior reading when needed.
Aggregation and history
Grain groups raw entries by individual entry, day, week, month, or year. Method summarizes each group with mean, median, max, min, sum, or count. Manual individual metrics carry forward the latest reading for display; calculated metrics follow their calculation mode. Grouped metrics show missing buckets when empty. Starred metrics appear first in Data Pool.
System metrics
Focus Time appears in Data Pool as a protected system metric per project. You can favourite each project's Focus Time, but its definition and aggregation are controlled by the focus timer. Happiness appears there as a protected daily score from Record and can be assigned to modules.
Quest Profile
Quest Profile is the analytics view for quest focus. It shows time trends, selected quest start and end dates, status, objective, and checkpoint journals.
Use this area to understand where time is going. Pick a quest to inspect its profile, then open quest details to adjust its settings in the drawer.
Settings
Week starts onChanges weekly ranges, week progress, and weekly rollups across Record, Purpose, and analytics.
Public holiday countryControls the public-holiday lane in the Purpose timeline. Countries marked with no data still save, but may not show holiday chips.
Show Focus In/Out buttonShows or hides the live focus timer on Record. Manual focus sessions remain available from Focus activity.
Compress images before uploadApplies to new profile, journal, banner, and attachment uploads so storage usage stays lower.
BirthdayPowers the dashboard birthday celebration when the selected date matches your birthday.
Profile pictureUpdates the header avatar. Crop and zoom settings decide how the image appears in the dashboard frame.
Settings also includes storage usage, Install App for PWA setup, the dashboard walkthrough, feedback, account email, and logout.
How Everything Connects
Date selection: the active date controls Record, anchors Purpose, filters project availability, and frames analytics.
Purpose nodes: nodes organize journals, focus sessions, deadlines, colors, branch relationships, and timeline placement.
Focus: live and manual focus sessions save to the selected project, update daily focus totals, and keep quest attribution on protected Focus Time entries.
Metrics: manual and calculated values live in the standalone Data Pool. Modules group related metrics, starred metrics appear first there, and Happiness lives as a protected score metric managed by Record.
Journals: journal tags connect narrative evidence to projects, timeline markers, search results, and node journal tabs.
Completion states: completed projects stay available on their completion date, then leave normal date filters.
Recommended Routine
- At the start of the week, review Purpose and adjust deadlines, child nodes, and priorities.
- Each day, select the date, set your mode, choose a project, and record focus or journal notes.
- When something needs measurement, open Data Pool, equip a module, then add metrics or choose which metric keys the module uses.
- Star only the metrics you want to watch every time you open the dashboard.
- Use Quest Profile to compare where focus time is actually going against the quests you intended.
- When deleting or moving a purpose branch, review linked journals and focus history before saving structural changes.
